PETS AT WORK DAY!

Friday, June 22, 2007
WHAT:
Pets at Work Day is a fun and easy way for employers to boost morale as well as support the important work of the Leon County Humane Society located on Timberlane Road. Companies are encouraged to participate by allowing employees to bring their well behaved pets to work with them for one day. Companies that will not allow pets can still participate by holding a casual day and bringing in their pet photos.

WHO:
Any local business, organization, club, school, or other group is welcome to participate. All proceeds directly benefit the homeless animals in foster care with the Leon County Humane Society.

WHEN:
National Take Your Pet To Work Day (by Pet Sitters International) is Friday, June 22, 2007 – but your organization can celebrate your own Pets At Work Day whenever it is most suitable. The Leon County Humane Society is also in need of donations throughout the year (click here to view our wish list).

WHY:
The purpose of Pets At Work Day is to raise awareness of the bond between people and their pets and promote responsible pet ownership, including sterilizing pets to reduce the number of unwanted litters in our community.

Of course, it is a great way to have a little fun at the office this summer too! Getting to know the pets of your fellow employees is very entertaining and helps busy professionals share a member of their family. Photos can be included in internal newsletters as well! Funds raised from this day of support will be used to care for homeless animals the Leon County Humane Society takes in each year.

The Leon County Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization with a 47 year history of working to improve the lives of companion animals in the Tallahassee area. Supported completely by donations, LCHS rescues and finds permanent homes for hundreds of dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets every year. In addition, the organization funds spays and neuters (more than 1,000 animals in 2006) and provides educational programs for children, adolescents, adults and seniors throughout our community.
