Fur Ball
“A gala and silent auction to benefit local homeless animals” The 2006 Fur Ball was held October 14th at the University Center Club. Attendees enjoyed an enchanted evening in the South Paw-cific featuring delicious hors d’ouvres, dancing to the awesome music of Tom and the Cats, and bidding on a varied selection of silent auction items ranging from gift baskets to NASCAR pit passes, three nights at a mountain retreat, jewelry, 3 days at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, and many more items. John Dawson and Tammy Osborn of STAR98 radio were the emcees and were also awarded a Purple Paw Award. Other Purple Paw Award recipients were Pam Houmere, Dorothy Penton, and Jackie Blue. The generosity of our community is amazing and the Leon County Humane Society extends a special thank you to everyone who made this event possible. We could not have had a fun and successful Fur Ball without the support of our sponsors, businesses who donated services and merchandise, our many volunteers, and the Fur Ball committee. And of course, a special thank you to the energized crowd that came to the Fur Ball and “bid high and often!” |
