Always has 150-200 animals in foster care, awaiting adoption.
Is a separate organization from the city funded shelter.

Friends Fur Life is a community-wide pet food and supply drive to help senior citizens and their companion animals in need.

Pet Photo Contest
“Is Your Pet a Star?”
It’s time to enter pictures of your pet in the Leon County Humane Society’s annual Pet Photo Contest. Winning shots will be featured in the 2009 edition of the ever-popular Paw Prints Calendar.

Volunteer Opportunities
Care for Cats Visiting LCHS Office
Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday mornings from 9:00 to 10:30am. Flexible schedule - help out one morning or several.
Everyday Needs
We need volunteers to sterilize crates, clean cat cages, answer phones, clean and organize animal supplies, and much more.
Pet Adoption Booth
First and third Saturdays of every month LCHS calendar. 11am-4pm at PetSmart, 3220 Capital Circle NE. Help is needed transporting animals, holding animals, booth setup and tear down.
