Smudge is a diamond in the rough, possesed of a sweet nature and quiet dignity - except when it comes to wet food, which makes her silly with excitement! And it's no wonder, really, since she was found starving to death under a dumpster at the Gasden County Landfill. She was 3 months old and weighed less than a pound...about a third of what a healthy kitten her age should weigh. Because LCHS had foster parents who specialized in critical care, especially for kittens, we were asked to take her into our program.
Smudge is now two and a half years old, and beautiful, with tuxedo markings and calico accents. Because of her traumatic kittenhood, Smudge is slow to trust and has not found her person yet. She will need someone who understands her need to build trust slowly, and who will be patient but persitent in forming a bond with her. For the right person, Smudge will be a wonderful companion!
If you are interested in meeting Smudge, either to foster or adopt her, please call the office at (850) 224-9193 or email me directly.
