Florida lawmakers are now considering two proposals that would significantly reduce greyhound racing in the state. These humane bills (House Bill 641 and Senate Bill 382) would decouple greyhound racing from other forms of gambling, which would significantly reduce dog racing in our state.
Today, as many as 8,000 dogs endure lives of terrible confinement at Florida racetracks. Many of these greyhounds also suffer serious injuries. Greyhound decoupling will significantly reduce dog racing in the state, and help thousands of dogs, allowing them to leave behind lives where they are only recognized as property and enter adoption programs such as the LCHS Foster Program, where they can find loving homes.
Join GREY2K, HSUS, ASPCA, Leon County Humane Society and many of your fellow Floridians in speaking for these graceful, gentle dogs.
