Rescue Ride

Rescue Joy Ride Raises Over $9,500 to Save Lives!

We are so happy with the success of our Saving Pets Campaign, and thrilled to be able to continue doing transports because of your support.

We have received word from our receiving shelter that almost all of the Rescue Joy Ride dogs have been adopted, including Benton, Lilah, Chester, Moe, Argus, Posey and Dudley! We will continue to share any photos and updates that we receive about these lucky dogs.

The campaign raised just over $8,875 from online and offline donations, plus an additional $625 Bonus Challenge prize! We’ll be putting the funds toward a total of 6 Rescue Rides in 2015! Because of your generous support, we hope to be able to save at least 200 additional lives.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared and helped fundraise for this life-saving campaign. We couldn’t have done it without you.

If you are interested in continuing to support our Rescue Ride program, donate below or get involved as a volunteer to help us save more dogs in need.

Since 2011, the Leon County Humane Society's Rescue Ride Program has saved over 500 lives by transporting dogs from overcrowded shelters in North Florida and South Georgia to Humane Societies and SPCAs in South Florida where they enter guaranteed adoption programs.
