  ANIMAL SHELTER
Tallahassee-Leon Community
Animal Service Center

The Leon County Humane Society (LCHS) is a separate organization from the Tallahassee Leon Community Animal Service Center (TLC-ASC), and as such, serves a different but equally important role in our community. TLC-ASC, a city/county-funded shelter, shoulders the overwhelming responsibility of dealing with the overpopulation of animals in Leon County, and sadly, the euthanasia of unwanted animals. In spite of this, TLC-ASC may be the only place where many of these animals have ever received compassionate, humane treatment. Dogs, cats, and rabbits are available for adoption. If you have a specific breed or age preference, call and have your request added to the wish list.

In addition to considering animals in the LCHS Foster Program, we encourage you to adopt animals from the TLC Animal Service Center. The Center's basic adoption fee may include some general medical care such as spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and physical examination. The fee also helps cover the services the Center's staff performs on the animal being adopted, such as; heartworm test, feline leukemia/aids test, first vaccinations, and microchipping.
